- On an annual basis, e-Book sales increased by 164.4% for 2010 vs. 2009 ($441.3M vs. $166.9M.)
- e-Book sales represented 8.32% of the trade book market in 2010 vs. 3.20% the previous year.

The digital format, including e-Books and audio books, is now the #1 format among all categories of trade publishing.
- According to Amazon, customers are downloading Kindle books more than hardcovers and paperbacks combined. The company sells 105 Kindle books for every 100 print books purchased.
- According to a report by Digital Entertainment Survey, 29% of e-reader owners were prepared to admit e-Book piracy, 36% of tablet owners confessed to piracy and 25% of those who admitted said they would continue to do so.
